Motorcycle parking bays can be found throughout Durham City, providing designated space for parking, however Motorcycles can also park in pay and display bays without time limit and without charge. Motorcycles are not, however, permitted to park in bicycle stands.
When parking on-street please try to take up the minimum amount of room by parking at 90 degrees to the kerb.
Motorcycles are subject to the same regulations as other vehicles, therefore if found parked in contravention of a parking restriction in County Durham a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) may be issued.
Designated free motorcycle bays can be found at the following locations:-
- The Sands car park
- Framwellgate Waterside (adjacent to the Passport Office)
- Bottom of Claypath opposite Millennium Place (Motorcycles and mopeds are not permitted to park in the bicycle area)
- Cross View Terrace, Neville’s Cross
- Hardwick Park
